Diagnosis of unilateral loading in ice hockey
Beran, Václav ; Jebavý, Radim (advisor) ; Vojta, Zdeněk (referee)
Title: Unilateral loading diagnosis in ice hockey Objectives: The primary objective of this work is to determine if junior field hockey players exhibit characteristic muscular imbalances in areas at high risk for unilateral loading. Sub-objective #1. Conduct a series of physiological tests (Patrick test, Thomas test, pectoralis muscle shortening test, ankle flexibility test, and left and right knee internal and external rotation tests) on junior field hockey players from four different teams to identify potential areas at high risk for unilateral loading. Sub-objective #2. Conduct a statistical analysis of the data collected to determine if there is a statistically significant unilateral strain in any of the areas tested and if there are significant differences between teams. Methods: In our study, the physical condition of the players was assessed using a modern Tanita scale and diagnostic exercise tests. Statistical methods such as t-tests, ANOVA, Kruskal-Wallis test, Wilcoxon test, and principal component analysis were used for data analysis. We also used Fisher's exact test and chi- square test to evaluate differences in frequency. A post-hoc test was then performed - Tukey's HSD test. Results: Our study identified statistically significant instances of unilateral load among hockey players...
Injuries caused by unilateral loading in tennis
Zmátlová, Anežka ; Kočíb, Tomáš (advisor) ; Carboch, Jan (referee)
Name: Injuries caused by unilateral loading in tennis Elaborated by: Anežka Zmátlová Thesis supervisor: Mgr. Tomáš Kočíb Aims of the thesis: To identify the most common injuries associated with unilateral loading in tennis and subsequently propose a stack of compensatory exercises. Methods of data processing: Document analysis was used in the thesis using a systematic method and knowledge from a literature search. Results of the work: Based on the literature search, information and knowledge from scientific and professional sources were obtained concerning the issue of unilateral loading in tennis and compensatory exercises. Based on this knowledge, a stack of compensatory exercises was compiled, which includes relaxation, stretching and strengthening exercises. The result of this work is a practical tool for tennis players and coaches to actively work on preventing unilateral loading and reducing the risk of injury. The results of this work have the potential to contribute to a better understanding of unilateral loading in tennis and the importance of compensatory exercises. Overall, the thesis provides a comprehensive approach to the issue of injuries caused by unilateral loading in tennis. Keywords: Unilateral loading, compensatory exercises, injuries, tennis
Improving the posture of a former beach volleyball player during a three-month intervention.
Jehličková, Tereza ; Hráský, Pavel (advisor) ; Kinkorová, Ivana (referee)
Title: Improving the posture of a former volleyball player during a three-month intervention Objectives: The aim of the bachelor's thesis is to process a literature search, to introduce beach volleyball and clarify its problems in the possible emergence of muscle imbalances and postural deviations. Another goal is to choose a former beach volleyball player, to perform an examination of the musculoskeletal system. The main goal of this work is to compile, describe, apply a compensatory exercise program and verify its effect in terms of posture adjustment and interpret the results of the examination and the applied intervention program. Methods: The thesis is a case study of a former beach volleyball player with deviations from the correct posture, for which an intervention exercise program was compiled on the basis of musculoskeletal diagnostics. The program lasted three months and was aimed at compensating for poor posture and identified muscle imbalances. The program consisted of partial compen-satory training units, which included breathing exercises focused on activating the muscles of the deep stabilization system, relaxation, stretching and strengthening exercises, which were modified after mastering lighter variants. A comprehensive kinesiological analysis, functional tests of spinal mobility...
Influence of unilateral loading and its compensation in muscle imbalaces in U12-U13 ice-hockey players
Beran, Václav ; Kregl, Jan (advisor) ; Vojta, Zdeněk (referee)
Title: Impact of unilateral load and its compensation of muscle imbalances in ice hockey in U14 and U15 of ice hockey players. Objective: To create a stack of exercises and according to it to propose some variations of compensation programme for young hockey players based on the accessible knowledge of unilateral load in hockey and of compensatory exercises. Tasks: One of the tasks of this bachelor thesis is to summarize and compare the knowledge that can be gained from domestic and foreign literature which deals with compensatory exercise while taking into consideration modern trends. Based on this research, another task is to create and draw up the unified compensation programme which includes exercises that can prevent or diminish muscle imbalances. Another task was to summarize general knowledge of muscle imbalances and compensation exercises. Methods: Theoretical part of this theses uses descriptive-analytic method. Practical part is represented by comparative analysis of literature which deals with problematics of muscle imbalances in ice-hockey and compensatory exercises for compensating unilateral load, next he uses the method of proposal and demonstration. Results: After analysing accessible literature, own attitude and experience after consulting experts in the field, the stack of...
